Dr. Diana Sturm is the founder and principal of Legacy Financial Planning, LLC. Legacy is a fee-based financial planning firm providing financial planning to people from all walks of life. Dr. Sturm holds an Investment Advisor series 65 license, life and health insurance license in Alabama and is a Registered Investment Advisor with the State of Alabama Securities Exchange Commission. She enjoys teaching and has extensive public speaking experience including appearances on WKRG-TV "News at 9", Christian Professional Network, the Alabama Business Today radio show on WNSI, investing classes at Christ United Methodist Church, local Coast Guard bases and City of Mobile Parks & Recreation classes. She also writes personal finance articles for Natural Awakenings magazine.

Dr. Sturm takes time to understand your goals and values so you can reach for and achieve what is most meaningful in your life. She has extensive speaking and teaching experience and has the ability to break down complex concepts into easy to understand ideas. She comes from a family who invested in real estate and stocks and instilled sound investing information in her at a young age.  She purchased her first real estate at 24 and continues to actively invest today. She worked for 5 years with contract law in property/casualty and life/health claims for Traveler's Insurance and Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

Dr. Sturm holds degrees from Northern Illinois University, Northeastern Illinois University and The University of Alabama. She has completed additional financial planning courses at Texas A&M and takes continuing education classes to keep up with current developments. She has several years of marketing experience with a variety of retail companies from small mom and pop stores to large corporations. She is a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals and the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance. She is an independent account executive with The Financial Wellness GroupTM to promote financial literacy to the general public. Dr. Sturm is the facilitator for the West Mobile Success Circle, a program sponsored by the Women's Business Center. She is also a member of the Mobile Chamber of Commerce.

Legacy Financial Planning, LLC receives revenues from clients for investment advice on an hourly or annual retainer basis. All insurance products are commission-based. Services can be engaged on an as needed basis or on an annual retainer basis, the choice is the client's.

Dr. Sturm lives in Mobile, Alabama. She is active in the community by serving on several boards including University of South Alabama's IACUC committee and Women in Science.
